Inte dem sista 3 called My old scapes, RIP low lightsMachnus skrev:Nice! Har du alla dom där igång nu?
But the rest I still maintain. Yes, lots of work, but what the heck, it is fun :P
I started another 54lit. low light, going through Silent Cycling at the moment so nothing to present, but soon I will scape it with slow growing Microsorum sp, and Anubias all attached to wood. I intend to keep mostly Corydoras melini (which I will observe and make an article about them) with some small shoaling specie like Boraras maculatus or similar.
Yes it is. Fascinating plant in my opinion. Not doing extremely well with Easy Carbo in my experience, older leaves and tips in the new leaves dissolve, but other than that, like many bulb plants love nutritious substrate. Is that Crinum calamistratum you have there in some of the tanks?
I've never seen it grow that tall (I haven't actually seen very much of it at all, but still).
Sorry, but I have none to spareYou wouldn't have a bulb or two to sell, would you?

Hi, welcome to Plantswap.
I really like your scapes and the "red" H. polysperma you’re showing is wonderful.

Hej.
Är Hemianthus calitrichoides Cuba en snabbväxande planta? Ser rätt mysig ut, har inte sett i någon butik så om du har ett par skott kanske du vill dela med dig här på forumet.

Hi guys and gals :-)
I believe I planted approx 8-9 C. calamistratums in there, in a whole midd section.
If CO2 is used (old 160lit) C. calamistratum grows like crazy, and choking the water surface, limiting gas exchange (O2), so slimy surface scum is very likely to appear. I usually add one more internal pump for extra surface agitation when such plants reach the surface. Also good to do is, cutting away the older leaves every so often.
After approx 8-9 month C. calamistratums part between the root/onion and the actual leaves becomes very tall, so it is necessary to actually cut down the whole plant, almost to the onion/bulb, and let it start growing over again.
I still am running with 2x39w T-5's and 2x30w T-8's but am taking away the reflectors from the T-8's.
CO2 is the must have nutrients with HC in my experience.
I read folk often write about HC growing upwards towards the light. Many say the plant is trying to reach for more light.
I personally don't think so. I believe this plant will do so in CO2 limited tanks, to reach the surface for atmospheric CO2.
Lets not forget that this plant also grows emerged meaning CO2 is a must.
Mg and Ca (GH) is also important with HC to keep the nice green color.
I strongly advice using nutrient rich substrate with it.
Of course small amounts of PMDD can also be used, but how much hugely depends on fast growing plants present in the system (tall plants). If Iwagumi is in question, small amounts of PMDD are required, otherwise Green water will very likely take over.
Also, when performing weekly WC, practise to hoover lightly over the plant, to remove dirt.
I am very satisfied with the emerged HC planting method suggested by Tom Barr .
After approx 4 weeks HC developed very long roots (up to 4 cm). I had no problems with this plant floating up, nor growing up wards when I added the water.

Yes and no it hugely depends on how much light it gets. It is good to kick it with lots of light in the beginning, so it spreads rapidly. Now that I have formed the carpet, I am cutting down on lights.Är Hemianthus calitrichoides Cuba en snabbväxande planta?

I actually started growing HC emerged, in the window, but the weather here in Sweden is not HC friendly at the moment No Sun, and therefor is growing slow.
